Banned Ads
This week the Australian Advertising Standards Bureau banned the BMW Z4 ad on the basis that it depicted hoon driving.
"The board noted that the advertisement does depict in a number of places the driver intentionally allowing the wheels of the car to lose traction and perform . . . a four-wheel drift," the bureau's judgment said.
I'd have to say, what a joke and a complete insult to people. To say this ad encourages unlawful driving is just stupidity. Let's get real here. V8 super cars racing, top fuelers and even Top Gear are more likely to encourage this type of behaviour. Are these going to be banned from our screens? I certainly hope not!
But there are plenty of other ads that get banned for no good reason. Have a look at this beer ad.
