Hyundai Tops Three Categories in Vehicle Operating Costs
Last year, two Hyundai products were recognised in the RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC and RACT Vehicle Operating Costs Survey. This year, Hyundai Motor Company Australia's reputation for offering consumers value has been further cemented with three of Hyundai's award winning product range being recognised in this year's survey.
The Hyundai Getz S is Australia's most cost effective car to run, taking out the Light Car category at $114.65 per week, down from $122.83 last year. The Hyundai i30 SX petrol leads the Small Car category, costing $145.95 per week. Hyundai's Tucson City topped the Compact SUV category at $179.08 per week.
"Winning these awards reinforces that Hyundai offers Australian consumers a complete package - namely outstanding value when purchasing a Hyundai product and exceptional value when owning and running a Hyundai car," said Nick Aravanis, Hyundai's Director of Aftersales. "We are extremely proud that Getz has not only won its category, but also the survey for the last three years running."
Calculations for the Vehicle Operating Costs Survey are based on a five-year ownership period and average operating costs for private motorists including an average driving distance of 15,000km. The data was collected in the period leading up to early May 2009*.
Results of the 2009 surveys are available at the RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC and RACT websites.
