The No Show Motor Show

This year’s International Motor Show in Sydney may be more memorable for its ‘no-shows’ rather than its show stoppers. Car manufacturers who chose not to exhibit at the Show included some real favourites, including: Audi, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mercedes- Benz, Jaguar, Saab, Mini, Porsche and Land Rover. Reasons for this no-show are said to stem from budget and focus. Two major Motor Shows, Melbourne and Sydney, eat up a big chunk of the annual budget, and the bigger question is whether the Motor Shows are the best bang for buck these days. Is a more focused marketing and customer relations program a smarter approach?
