Smart Fortwo Gets Greener
The smart fortwo mhd (micro hybrid drive), will be available in Australia this December.
Modeled on the current smart fortwo, the mhd offers further savings in fuel consumption, fewer CO2 emissions as well as reduced levels of urban noise.
The 52kW smart fortwo mhd uses idling phases to temporarily switch off the engine when the car is stationary in traffic. The smart fortwo mhd will replace the current 52kW variant available in the Australia, at no extra cost to the buyer.
The standard consumption is reduced by approximately 0.3 litres per 100 kilometres - from 4.7 litres to 4.4 litres.
CO2 emissions are also reduced, from 112 grams to 105 grams per kilometer.
