Keeping Up Appearances on Scooters

Helmet hair and biker boots can be fairly unattractive, but skin grafts are worse. Stupid, stupid, stupid girls - well, mostly girls. Please wear protective clothing on your scooters!

I'm all for scooters. I think they're a fantastic transport option. Less congestion on the roads, less harmful emissions, lower fuel bills, cheap to buy and they look super-cool... it makes sense. What I'm not all for is stupid girls riding scooters in frou-frou outfits and flip flops. In the event of an accident, even a low speed one, your skin will be ripped from your bones. No more frou-frou for you.  It's madness.

I'm an experienced motorbike rider, and most certainly what you would describe as a ‘girly type'. Fashion, hair, make-up - they're all important issues in my world. Despite this terrible streak of vanity, in all my years of riding motorbikes, never (ever) have I saddled up without the appropriate protective gear. It's plain stupid not to. If I can do it, anyone can.

Seriously, what are they thinking??????
